My younger brother he made a handcrafted “bow” toy out of a hanger; the string is a strip of some stretch fabric and the arrows are wooden skewers. He’s obviously not practicing it as a sport but it seems he likes doing it. I’d appreciate some very general tips or principles on archery that can be applied even with his rudimentary bow. I’ve googled it but all the info I found was related to sport archers and professional bows we can’t afford to buy.

single, dual, hybrib cam bow etc.
E.g. Aluminium, carbon, wooden arrow etc.
E.g. Finger tab, chest guard etc.- are they necessary?

Just to put this out there, I don’t do archery or anything…I’m working on a book and have been researching about archery for it. But…sadly, although I’ve found info on different types of bows, I can’t find anything about the specific differences between them or explaining any of the lingo.
I’m completely archery illiterate…so please try to use words I can understand. Thank you…
