I’ve been watching videos on youtube about archery, and i think it’s really cool. I want to try it and see what it’s like! I’ve tried a bow before and i want one of my own. So, what would i need to first start?

I shoot only at the club level so far and i am winning or ranking high in most of my comps (usually shooting around 50-70m), how long would it take to reach the national level, and what kind of competitions do i have to win to make it through to the Olympics?

I trained for 8 years, until the end of 1971 when I was forced to retire from the sport due to severe medical problems; just months before the tryouts were to take place. I think my friend and fellow shooter , Richard McKenney, from Muncie, IN. won some World and possibly Olympic medals but I lost contact with all my former friends in the sport after my retirement.
Name the individual winners with( if possible) their hometown & State. Should any of these Shootists have won World Championships, please signify.

single, dual, hybrib cam bow etc.
E.g. Aluminium, carbon, wooden arrow etc.
E.g. Finger tab, chest guard etc.- are they necessary?
this is for the training in the olympics=)
