How should I call Whitetail deer in early archery season?
This is my second year bowhunting in Michigan. I have used calls quite a bit now and have had a lot of success in mid season with a doe grunt. I have heard that I may be able to call bigger bucks with a buck grunt. What is the best way to call in bucks at the beginning of archery deer season? Thanks.
archery?
how many of yall are actually into archery? i have looked at the hunting ?s and its all about guns! who shoots archery? what kinda bow? i have been shooting for 3 or 4 years and im getting pretty accurate and i have a good set up (gold tip arrows, bowtech diamond edge, cobra sight, and other stuff i don’t recall at the moment but they are good i know that haha) but i have problems with being stable in my stance. and i have a sablizer but its mostly there to absorb the shock. i want to try a longer one. do you think that would help? (im 14 and shooting a 35 lb. bow but fixing to get stronger limbs at christmas)
thanx steven r and the carver. both of yalls answers helped. i went and shot my bow today and just the little things made me more accurate. i still haven’t gotten a longer stablizer yet but im hoping when i do that i will be that much better! thanks again
Small Town Girl
I just took a introductory archery class, and bought a compound bow online. How do I take care of it?
I just got a bow online since im thinking about getting into archery. I thought that it would be easy, but as Im reading theres more and more info. I also cant find what bow I have, and the weight tag is missing.
I have a bear compound bow, and says Black/Mag in small letters on the side. I looked on the website, and theres nothing similar. The serial is BM-15776. The weight pull is high, the guy said it was 50-60, but I would like to reduce it. Is it possible to reduce it down to 25 or less? My girlfriend will be using the bow also, so this draw is MUCH too heavy for her. We used a 10 pound draw during the intro class.
Im only looking to shoot it for fun at targets, no hunting at all. I also read that you need heavy enough arrows so the bow wont get damaged. How do I find out? What kind of bow do I have?
Thanks for any responses
Female archery hunter looking to get a new bow?
I currently hunt with a PSE Baby G. I’ve had this bow for about 10 years and I really like it but I want to up-grade. With all the technology that has influenced the archery industry over the last few years, I’m confused. I like the baby g due to it’s size mostly. It’s comfortable and not too heavy. Any suggestions??
Can anyone give me some beginner archery tips?
At the moment I’m not worried about the actual hunt. I’m more interested now in learning to shoot and get really good at it. I received a Fred Bear Element compound bow for Christmas set at 28″ 60-70lb draw. The archery shop I got set up at set the bow at like 55lbs to start me out…Is this ok since the bow weight says 60-70? Any other advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
How do you determine draw weight and draw length for archery?
I’m thinking of buying a custom bow and I need to know how you determine draw weight percentage and draw length.
Thanks
Not modern bows. I’m talking about the ol’ hickory wood bows.
I’m very new to this. So I really don’t know many of the terminologies needed to know. The main purpose is to display, but I would like to learn how to shoot. I hold bows with my left hand. If you know of any dealers in Oregon, that would be great. Also, if any training courses are availible in Oregon, that would be great.
