Matthews, Parker, Hoyt, PSE, Bow tech, etc. Here are a few bow makers who have websites where you can do some research. You can purchase bows from their websites. You can also purchase bows from Cabela’s, Bass Pro, etc. I would say a high end bow should cost you about 800 plus accessories and a low end about 300 plus accessories. I would highly discourage you from doing this. online research is good for research and you can even purchase a bow from them, but and a big but, i would highly recommend you go to a local bow shop and shoot some of them. each bow, even different models by the same maker, will shoot very different. I would take the time if you are serious about it and find one that “fits” you best and that you are most comfortable shooting. Most of the people who run and work at such shops will be able to help you out and are very knowledgable about what they do. Then if you want to, you can buy the bow at a shop or buy it online.

They all stock beginner equipment. If you want to just do target shooting, I suggest going with recurves. Go for something like a bullseye from internature or the buckeye from PSE. I like the bullseye better, but it’s becoming harder to find those bows. These bows are cheap compared to going compound.

All of those online shops are in the US, except for altservices, they’re in the UK. Some will even sell kits for beginner, that includes a bow, safety equipment and 6 good aluminum arrows, not the crappy fiberglass ones that cabelas sell.

There are so many websites my recommendation would be to go to your local sporting goods store and get set up through them.
