Rebekah asked: I want to get started in archery. I have found a couple websites that sell equipment, but I’m not sure if they are where I should be shopping. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I have never done this before, and therefore would need to purchess a bow, arrows, target, etc.

You should go to a sporting goods store instead of ordering from a catalog, they will help you find a bow that fits you properly, theres lots of bows out there and some may not be right for you ,so it would be better to have some help from a sales person who has experience.Theres alot of factors that play into bowhunting like arrow weight, draw length and the poundage your bow is set at, sights

Please do not buy online, espically if you don’t know exactly what you need. You should look for archery or hunting shops in your area, shop around talk to different people and get thier opinions. You should never buy a bow before you shoot it, you need to make sure that it fits you and that you are comforatable with it. If you do find good deals online try to go to a shop to shoot that exact bow, just act like you are serious about buying it while at the shop. if you do buy online you will have to take the bow to a shop to have it set up for you, they may charge you if you did not buy from them.
Basiclly if you find a good shop they will be more than capable of getting you started. Every shop I have every been to has very friendly and knowledgeable staff that are more than willing to help.
Also a lot of shops offer used bows for a lot less than new.
Here is a list for you
Bow
Rest
Sights
Peep sight
Stablizer
Arrows (I prefer carbon)
Field tips for practiceing
a target (something like the block or cube are the best but not cheap)
release and arm guard
