how do I get started in archery?
Ze Anya ^_^ asked:
I’ve never used a bow before but I’ve always wants to learn archery, but um I’m confused on getting the right bow, like should I use one of those bows with just one string or two to start of, although the 2 string one looks complicating, just if someone could explain some basic things about archery including bows and technique, it would be greatly appreciated

You can get compound bows with adjustable tension. The one with more than 1 string. The guy at the sporting goods store will be able to explain it better than I can though. Plus a hands on demonstration works better for learning. But do find a mentor to help you with this. Don’t go it alone or something bad might happen.
Good luck

Your best bet may be to find an archery club in your area.
Or you can try to find a dealer that deals mainly in archery supplies. They should be able to provide you with information on where to find places to practice, and possibly find a place that provides instruction.
Be careful of the big sporting goods stores. The people that work there may not know enough to sell you the properly fitted equipment. There are many different bows and you need to get one that will fit you, draw length and draw weight are two things that are very important to know. If the bow is too hard for you to draw back it will take the fun out of shooting.
This is a good upper body exercise. so don’t be surprised if after a year or so you will be wanting to get a little heavier bow, so don’t get too carried away and spend a whole lot of money right away.
